Yesterday, Wyatt rolled from front to back three times. I am pretty sure he is doing this so that he can have an easier time sucking his fists. He has also started to giggle. Hopefully, we can get it recorded at some point.

Finally Arrived!!

At long last, Wyatt Thomas was born Friday July 10, 2009 at 1:59 am. It was quite an ordeal and we'll need some time to process all the details, but the bottom line is he's here and healthy and we're so excited.

He weighed 9 lbs 2 oz and was 23.5 inches long with a 15 inch head. The nurses kept commenting on how big he was. Not sure how much water that "not a giant baby" comment holds now. Depends on your definition of "giant" I guess. Too giant for Becka's taste, I can assure you.

We're at home at last after a few days at the hospital. He finally got to sleep in his crib and see his nursery. He also got to meet Vela and many of his relatives.

Engaged

Becka had a mid-wife appointment yesterday and apparently he's engaged. She's pretty excited that he's "not a giant baby" either. She can probably comment on this stuff a lot better than I can.

Oh Baby

I cannot say that pregnancy at this point is enjoyable. My least favorite are all of the lovely supposedly painless contractions I have been having for the last three weeks. I have been trying to focus on the nursery and other home improvement projects so that I do not feel too sorry for myself :)

Are you Ready?

Been hearing that a lot these days. The usual response, is "hope so". There's no real going back now. We've been to Babies R' Us a lot, so that must count for some preparation. Lots of things are checked off the list, but really, how can you actually prepare? I mean sometime REAL soon there's going be another full-time person in this house. And one that is not even potty trained, and can't go more than a few hours without eating or pooping. That's hard to get ready for.

No Dilation

Becka's been pretty crampy the last week or so. I sympathize for her as it seems to be pretty painful. She found herself in the clinic the other day to see if anything was amiss. No dilation yet, so that's the good news. Hopefully that little guy gets some more time to put on some chub.

Also, the shower marathon is over with another rouser this past Sunday at the O'Neils. Big thanks to all the attendees and hostesses.

Did a dry run of the Graco Pak n' Play yesterday too. So many new toys...

Car seat -- Check!

Tackled the car seat last night. Wow, reminded me of a physics final. Anyhow, I think we got all the stuff we need for it and it's in place. We're now officially ready to drive around with a baby.

Hospital Tour

We got to take a tour of the hospital last night. Next time, I'm sure there will be more drama involved. Nice, private rooms though and even a bench for dads to sleep on.

Awaiting Baby Boy Schulz

We are expecting a wee little mister around the first of July this summer. Hopefully, once we get this setup we can keep in touch a little better than we have been :)
