A Vacation of Firsts

During our week long adventure in Michigan, Wyatt managed to do many things for the very first time including:

1. Climbed by himself into a chair
2. Walked unassisted on uneven ground indefinitely
3. Clapped in rhythm during part of a song
4. Got his upper molars (now has 16 teeth)
5. Very first mosquito bite (even with bug spray)
6. Went on a hike in a carrier

Wyatt was doing something that he wasn't supposed to be doing. I held my arms out to pick him up. Instead of coming over he looked at me and shook his head no. I thought he was just being silly and dancing like he sometimes does. I tried again and he did the same thing. Then, I asked him if he knew the word no and he did it again. Now, whenever I say no he is shaking his head. I didn't even realize that is what I do when I say it. He is learning!

Wyatt had his 1 year appointment today. The poor little guy ended up leaving with a smile even though he was poked too many times.

Growing So Fast

Wyatt has been waddling around the house for the past month. He has started doing really long stretches. He has also started to like to hold your hand and walk around. Usually he wants to to do it all by himself.

We started music class yesterday with Baby Avery. It went well. Wyatt was babbling away and walking around the room. He kept trying to grab the other babies, but they were trying to grab him too.

He now has 7 teeth on the bottom with another coming in and 7 teeth on the top with one coming in. It has been a teething fest around here.

I cannot believe he is almost a year already! How did that happen?

Its saturday and Wyatt is napping. He typically takes a morning nap, which is nice.

He is getting so big now with longer hair. He has had a couple new teeth recently as well, on the top now.

He is looking more and more like a boy and less and less like a baby. This is happening too fast!

He "creeps" along the floor quite rapidly now and standing seems to be his favorite activity.
